This weekend, Feb. 14-17, is the annual Great Backyard Bird Count. This event offers anyone an opportunity to participate in Citizen Science. All you need is 15 minutes or more of your time and the ability to identify the birds you see. Don’t know a lot about birds? That’s ok. Get a field guide to the birds, you can check one out of the public library. After you count your birds you can submit your count to this website: http://gbbc.birdcount.org/get-started/. You’ll also find more information there about the correct way to record your bird count. Hope this event encourages you to learn more about the birds around you.
